Find the Right Construction Accident Attorneys

The construction industry is inherently dangerous. While modern technology, as well as comprehensive health and safety regulations, have greatly reduced the number of construction accidents that occur each year, there is no way to completely eliminate them.

There are quite a few different entities that might be liable if a construction worker or bystander is injured at a construction site. They include the owner of the construction site, the general contractor in charge of the building project, subcontractors, construction equipment manufacturers, and the architects and engineers who designed the project being built. Obviously, depending on the situation, not all of these entities might be liable for a construction accident.

Finding the Right Construction Accident Attorneys

Adoptation of Occupational Safety and Health Act Nationally

Virtually every sate in the U.S. has adopted the terms of the federal Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) into its own law. And even if it hasn't, the federal OSHA applies everywhere in the United States. Furthermore, some states have passed occupational health and safety laws which are more stringent than the federal standards. Any construction company doing business in such a state will have to comply with that state's laws.

Health and safety regulations that apply to the construction industry are very complex, and are updated fairly frequently. Suffice it to say, a construction company should have a construction accident attorney on retainer to keep them abreast of the latest developments in this area of law. Violation of any applicable regulation resulting in injury is almost certain to lead to a successful lawsuit against the construction company.

And even if a specific code section is not violated, any conduct which a court or jury determine to be negligent (unreasonably careless) on the part of anyone involved in a construction project can be a path to civil liability, or a workman's compensation claim, if it causes any type of injury.
